Totoro from My Neighbor Totoro. I made this piece for a holiday gift exchange.

This piece is fairly small, about 3"x6" and is made with Canson and Canford papers. I am happy with the end results, especially the teeth, which were a bit challenging.

My Neighbor Totoro belong to Hayao Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli/Disney.

Sometimes I look at these things and think, "wow, these are really just paper on top of paper, yet there's some depth." Other times, I think, "you can't tell me this is NOT completely 3D!"

...This is one of those "other times." It totally looks like I could stick my hand into his mouth and get bitten. I love the fur, too.

Thanks! You actually can stick your finger in his mouth, about to your first knuckle. Can't say if you will get bitten or not, but you can put a finger in there. It took me some time to figure out how to layer and curve the paper to get that depth, but I love the end result.

Thanks man. I have pockets of productivity. I'm a little sore from doing a little too much in a short period of time, but am really enjoying working again. I've got a few more older pieces to post first and then back on to some new stuff.

Nice! I actually really like how the lower teeth are placed as well as the fold in the umbrella. It's the (literally?) little things! :)

Thanks! I spent most of my time trying to figure out the teeth and mouth. I'm really glad you like them.
