Sky King

I commissioned this piece from the very awesome Drew Green , who not only created a fantastic image, but was also a complete professional.

The commission was for an image of my nephew skydiving that I would make into a paper sculpture to give to my nephew as a gift. Drew did an amazing job as my nephew instantly recognized himself in the image.

I had a blast making this piece! It was fun to create a sculpture from Drew's work and would welcome the opportunity to do so again. There are a few small changes from the original illustration to the sculpture, specifically how I treated the gradation of the sky. I thought about this for a long time and feel the end result helps to create more perspective.

This piece is made from Canson, Canford and Murano papers and measures 11"x14". Illustration by Drew Green, my nephew by my sister, paper sculpture by me.
