Color Assignment: Camouflage

An assignment from the Color Theory class I took this past summer. The assignment was to illustrate the four uses of color in nature, in this example: camouflage (the remaining three uses of color in nature being warning, attraction and mimicry). Again, the subject is my former rabbit Colby, but this time he is in eggplant camouflage so as not to be caught sneaking vegetables.

This is the first time I used watercolor paints and is an example of why I say paint hates me. I do like some of the things that are happening in the background and in the eggplants, but the foreground is poor in choice of color as well as in execution. At some point I will explore the use of watercolor more in the future, but need to learn a little bit more about technique.
