Aurora version 2

Description

Aurora and a dime for scale. The sculpture is about 3.75" x 2", made from Canson and Canford papers. This is the second of four pieces that will make a larger piece.

Working on this scale presents some challenges. Aside from cutting out small pieces of paper, like pupils, layering is a big issue. Aurora's hair and skirt required a number of layered sections which caused some unwanted wrinkling at her waist. I think I fixed that with some foam core supports, but it isn't quite what I wanted.

I'm also not crazy about the color of her sleeves and waist. I wish I had a slightly different shade of pink, but the only other one I could find was too candy-like.

I'm not sure of the total time, but I do know her face, hair, neck/shoulders and necklace and crown took about 2 hours to cut out and assemble.
